Description
Nero di Bosco is a red wine of radical identity. Vivid ruby in youth, it evolves toward garnet and amber hues with age — each vintage tells a different story. On the nose it is vinous, with a rich and persistent bouquet. On the palate it is round and full, with a structure that surprises by its generosity and harmony. In its youth it is best with rustic desserts and dry pastries; with age it gains complexity and pairs with red meats, boiled meats and roasts. Limited annual production. Serve at 18°C.
History & legends
Roncadelle means, literally, the place where trees were cut. The name comes from the Latin runcare: to clear forest, to tear land from the woodland with a billhook.
Before there were vineyards here, there was forest. Before there were fields, there were elm trees: so many that they gave their name to the municipality itself, Ormelle, from olmelle, the elms. For four centuries the Venetian Republic governed this territory, transforming the Piave plain.
The forest disappeared. But it left its name on the street where this winery stands, Via Bosco, and in the memory of the land. Nero di Bosco is born here. Each vintage yields a limited number of bottles. Those who find it, seek it again.
