Description

Merlot is a red wine with an intense ruby colour and a vinous, distinctive bouquet. Its flavour is dry, savoury and full-bodied, with well-balanced tannins and a harmonious structure. With an alcohol content of 12°, it is a versatile wine that adapts perfectly to traditional dishes, particularly white meat roasts, rabbit, poultry and braised meats. The ideal serving temperature is between 16° and 18°C, to best bring out its qualities. A perfect companion for every occasion.

History & legends

It is said that the name "Merlot" derives from the French word merle, meaning "blackbird", a bird that feeds on grapes. It is believed that blackbirds were particularly attracted to Merlot grapes, perhaps because of their sweet flavour, and that this is why the grape variety was given this name.
