History & legends
This wine has deep roots in the Veneto winemaking tradition and has been appreciated since the Middle Ages. The name "Raboso" comes from a dialect word meaning "rude" or "rough", a reference to the wine's initially wild character, which would soften over time through ageing in wooden barrels. Its resilience and unique flavour have made this wine a symbol of strength and perseverance. It is said that in the past, along the lands of the Piave river, it was the favourite of both farmers and nobles, prized for its ability to age with elegance and accompany rich, hearty dishes.
